D-Rad 500 cm3 motorcycle with side-car
Gecső Jenő és Társai Műszaki és Kereskedelmi Vállalat (Jenő Gecső and co. Technical and Trade Company) was the domestic representative of the German motorcycle D-Rad. The company assembled the motorcycles in Hungary in order to participate in the Post Office’s vehicle tender.
The motorcycle with side-car on display was used by private owners; other motorcycles of the same model were used in large numbers in Berlin – they were even used as taxis with a closed side-car superstructure.
Salvaging the vehicle
The motorcycle will be part of the museum’s new permanent exhibition after its complete renovation.
