This model was used when trolleybus services were relaunched in Budapest after World War Two. Their manufacturing of the vehicles commenced in the Soviet Union in 1946, based on the US PCC models.
A total of 53 such vehicles were operated in Budapest. The first trolley bus in Pest was put into service on 21 December 1949 on the 70th birthday of Joseph Stalin, therefore the service was given the number 70.
