Skoda Octavia Super
The model
The first Octavias rolled off the production line in Mlada Boleslav, Czechoslovakia, in 1959. Approximately 360,000 units of the model’s first generation were produced during an over ten year manufacturing cycle.
The vehicle
The manufacturing of the different variants (sedan, station wagon, cabriolet) of the two-door model continued until 1971. The model’s success was due in part to its beautiful design, including its characteristic tail fins.
Salvaging the vehicle
The Skoda Octavia was brought to the Transport Museum after its full reconstruction, under the Museum’s priority collection development programme.
